zaal of paradiso.downstairs by chance its
the artic monkeys playing to a packed house
but it's a select audience upstairs.
yet again a powerful performance.

silent running...a movie fixed in gidionics
collective memory-spaceships with biopods
containing the last earth forests looking for an
unpolluted planet where they can be replanted.
of course they all die and the forests blown
to pieces.
so,its nice to see the leaves have sprouted
and green is back in amsterdam...even in
front of our pyramides

back to club3voor12 for a special performance
by spearhead frontman michael franti.
gidionics will admit that we are not the
biggest fans,but some of his positive outlook
rubbed off...
we are also interested in seeing his film registration
of his trip to iraq.
was nice later in the set when he asked for a
member from the audience to join him to sing-
it's the informal nature of the club that
makes it special on nights like this

gidionics take a trip down to the tuchinski
theatre to see the film factotum-the latest
adaptation of bukowski ramblings.
slightly dissapointing as it failed to
really capture some of the humour that
he can express even in moments of true
down and outness.....but a trip to tuchinski
is always a rewarding experience.

somehow this photo created associations
to the film...

gidionics take up the kind invitation to
go and see the band morning runner who
are headlining a mini festival in the melkweg
of new up and coming bands.
we spend an evening running from one stage
to the other so that we catch all the bands on
the menu and bump into some familiar faces
such as the gentlemen from zZz

we see the pink mountaintops - what you might describe
as a alt.country band/collective (at least 7 members on
stage).they are ok with their own blend of melodic pop
but it is the band black mountain that
impress us later on.
both bands are fronted by the same singer but explore
music at different ends of the musical spectrum-black
mountain created a guitar driven soundscape with a
healthy dose of psychedelic rock references.grrrreat!
